We have used the combined simultaneous anterior and posterior maxillary ostectomy to correct 32 dentofacial deformities during the past five years. Alterations and improvements in the procedure advocated by us in 1969 have made it more versatile. In indicated cases, it provides the best method to obtain optimum esthetic and functional results. In our experience, this approach permits a direct and definitive method for the correction of a group of dentofacial deformities that have been previously approached less directly with resulting compromised functional and esthetic results. The indications, methods of treatment, and follow-up data of this procedure are presented with two illustrative cases.
