[Periodontal conditions after surgery of maxillary sinus fistulas].

In 38 patients the periodontal conditions after closure of antrum perforations are examined. The following indices are used: plaque index, gingival index, degree of loosening, depth of pocket and index of osteolysis. As compared to the opposite side, significant atrophy of the bone is found in the region of the perforation. Otherwise no significant differences between the operated side and the non-operated side are observed.
