[Timing of the orthodontic treatment in patients with cleft lip and cleft palate].

There is now a general concensus of opinion that the specific care of patients with congenital clefts should be performed in the framework of their rehabilitation in large centres. The values of timely and competent care is deduced from results obtained from 100 orthodontic patients. In cleft patients orthodontic treatment must begin several years earlier than in patients without clefts.
