This paper presents a model of a new type of outpatient medical care: specialized course of therapy on an outpatient basis. Indications for rendering such care mainly to patients with chronic diseases are formulated. Treatment of such patients in an outpatient setting by intermittent courses with possible short-term hospitalization and temporary invalidity conforms to the standards of hospital care. Data on social and medical efficiency of such treatment organization are presented.
