The continent ileostomy of Kock (ileal intra-abdominal reservoir). Experience with 9 cases operated on for ulcerative colitis.

A series of 9 patients with ulcerative colitis undergoing proctocolectomy and ileal intra-adbominal reservoir is reported. Eight patients are continent and 1 is incontinent. Early and late postoperative complications, work capacity and social and sexual functions are described.
