[The bismuth-encephalopathy - a new pathological syndrome (author's transl)].

The publications concerning cases of bismuthencephalopathy seen in Australia, France, Switzerland and the Federal Republic of Germany are reported. The potential mechanisms of the development of this "new disease" are discussed.
