A review of 68 vestibuloplasties during a seven-year period indicated that there is no need for the routine use of either antibiotics or corticosteroids after vestibuloplasty for correction of an atrophic mandibular ridge. Vigorous massage after healing was beneficial. Improved tolerance and function of dentures were obtained in all instances. Paresthesia of the lower lip occurred in a significant number of patients.
