The nurse who is thoroughly familiar with the components and underlying scientific rationale of the neurovascular assessment can perform the assessment capably, competently, and quickly. It is the nurse's responsibility to perform neurovascular assessment, document accurate patient data, and communicate the assessment findings to other members of the health care team in order to prevent or promptly detect signs and symptoms of potential or developing complications.
