How two major health systems are employing 'doing more with less' and 'value-added' approaches to hospital security.

In efforts to achieve greater productivity from their security departments in the face of cutbacks, mergers, and other economic developments, a number of buzzwords have become popular recently that, in effect, call on security personnel to effectively provide additional services without increased funding or, in fact, with reduced budgets. Talking about such approaches is one thing, but achieving desired results is another. In this report, we'll present details on how security directors of two of the county's largest health operations have put concept into action.
