Prognostic value of viable dysfunctioning myocardium after non-Q infarction diagnosed at stress-echocardiography with low doses of dobutamine was clarified as a result of a one-year prospective study of 36 patients. Viable myocardium was found in 38.9% of the cases of non-Q myocardial infarction. Any stress-induced dynamics of local contractility correlates with high risk of repeat acute coronary events within the year after non-Q myocardial infarction.
