Abstract

Depression is a fairly common disorder in children and adolescents. Symptoms include depressed mood, reduced energy, cognitive dysfunction and additional physical complaints. Depression may require in-patient treatment. In spite of effective psychopharmacological and psychotherapeutic treatment methods, depressive disorders tend to persist.
