Leaping into patient safety.

Last November, the Leapfrog Group unveiled an ambitious effort to improve patient safety across the nation. Sponsored by the Business Roundtable, the Leapfrog Group is a consortium of Fortune 500 companies and other large private and public health care purchasers. The group is working to mobilize employer purchasing power to affect big "leaps" in patient safety by educating consumers and rewarding health care providers who meet defined safety standards.
