The authors describe the condition in 1972 of patients who were operated on by the Voss technique between 1959 and 1966 and who had been studied first in 1967. Four patients out of 10 remained satisfactory for 6 to 10 years after surgery but the progressive deterioration in the results shows that this operation does not withstand the test of time and that it has a very weak pathogenic basis.
