A hand-grip dynamometer was used to test the maximal grip strength and endurance index of 15 male and 15 female physical therapy students. The results showed that there was no apparent correlation between maximal grip strength and endurance index in the male subjects, but there was a tendency for endurance index to decrease as maximal grip strength increases in the female subjects. Maximal grip strength and body weight were positively correlated in both the males and the females. There was no significant difference in endurance index between the males and the females.
