[Sixty years of study on history of diseases].

The study of history of diseases includes research on archeology, ancient medical works and systematic study on the history of diseases. By reviewing the process of 60 years, the paper points out that the process includes two approaches. On the one hand, it is defined by modern disease titles, offering historical background to cosmopolitan medicine and integrated Chinese and western medicine, and retifying the positive role of Chinese ancient medical workers' contribution to mankind. On the other hand, it also defined by traditional Chinese disease-syndrome titles, offering experiences for the development of Chinese medical academy and realization of modernization of Chinese medicine. Both approaches are mutually promoted, infiltrated, thus stimulated the deeper development for the study of history of diseases.
