[Alfred Biesiadecki - distinguished Polish histopathologist and his contribution in dermatology].

Basing on the archival material and analysis of publications, the author has presented the biography of Alfred Biesiadecki and his scientific output. He is one of the most distinguished students of Karl Rokitansky and in period of work at this he has already started the histopathlogic examinations of skin as the first one. In that period his students were the outstanding pathologists from all over the world. Presenting the Biesiadecki's publications and the output of his followers, as well as references to his works in world dermatological literature, the author proved that Biesiadecki initiated the histopathologic examination of skin in the world.
