Changes in the future time perspective of 31 narcotic addicts who were participating in a methadone maintenance treatment program were studied by a 9-week test-retest design that used a matched control group of waiting list addicts. Significant changes were obtained on the dimension of extension, but not on four other future time dimensions, which reflects the change in the personal and social status of the addict in a comprehensive treatment program.
