Confirming the judgement of the Appeals Court of Bordeaux in 1937, the judgement of the Supreme Court in the case of Teyssier confirmed the duty of the doctor to inform the patient in order to obtain his informed consent. Such information was considered as necessary to respect the person and the rights of the patient.
