A long-term (the average 22.4 years) follow-up study of 757 schizophrenic patients displayed in 22% of the cases full recoveries, in 42,3% -- atypical types of recovery and in 35.7% -- characterisctic deficiency symptoms. At the time of the last follow-up 85.5% of the patients were living at home. 14.5% were permanently in hospital. The author gives a clinical analysis of the examined patients and prognostically favourable and unfavourable factors.
