Diverse forms of acute meningo-encephalitis found in adolescents and adults are discussed considering 1244 cases treated at the Neurologic Clinic of the University at Cologne in the time from 1950 till 1975. The rate of morbidity and lethality was found to vary according to the type of causative germ. The inflammation often took another course than in childhood. The age at the outbreak of the disease, infection immunity, precursing and concomitant illnesses as well as the onset of medication influence the outcome of the meningo-encephalitis.
通过对1950年至1975年期间在科隆大学神经科诊所接受治疗的1244例病例进行分析，探讨了青少年和成人中发现的多种形式的急性脑膜脑炎。发现发病率和致死率因致病病原体类型而异。这种炎症的病程往往与儿童时期不同。疾病爆发时的年龄、感染免疫力、前驱和伴随疾病以及用药时机都会影响脑膜脑炎的预后。
