Abstract
Ultrasonic B-mode scanning of renal masses has been reported to be accurate in differentiating cysts from solid masses. Invasive transitional cell carcinoma of the kidney can appear anechoic on ultrasound scanning. Two patients demonstrating this fact and its implications form the basis of this report.
