Abstract
Taking a scientific approach to supply cost management is a lot of work, but the effort can net big savings, as a California hospital found last year. Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian saved $2 million on supplies and services in 2001 and expects to continue saving that amount annually for the next couple of years.
