Abstract

No nitrogenase activity was observed in the rhizosphere of pine and oak having mycorrhizal associations. It is concluded that mycorrhiza did not play any role in stimulating the nitrogen fixing system. More work with pine and oak mycorrhiza by isotopic method is suggested.
