Abstract
Rat and guinea pig peritoneal macrophages are compared in their ability to phagocytose guinea pig, rat and sheep red cells. The ability of the phagocytes to ingest autologous red cells does not seem to be drastically reduced compared to their ability to ingest alien cells.
