Abstract

Fifty female undergraduate Ss participated in a study designed to test the hypothesis that the DAS is a valid measure of repression. The results supported the hypothesis and provided an indication that the repression of feelings is the major aspect that accounts for the relationship between the DAS and repression as measured by Gleser and Ihilevich's Defense Mechanism Inventory.
