Among 1000 patients with unilateral and bilateral bronchiectases 35 patients were subjected to repeat pneumonectomies for residual and recurrent bronchiectases. In residual bronchiectases segmental resections are mostly indicated, while in persistant atelectasis with bronchial fistula, chronic pleural empyema and bronchiectases a removal of the remain lung portions seems to be the only radical method of treatment.
在1000例单侧和双侧支气管扩张患者中，35例因残留和复发性支气管扩张接受了再次肺切除术。对于残留支气管扩张，大多建议进行肺段切除术，而对于伴有支气管瘘、慢性胸膜脓胸和支气管扩张的持续性肺不张，切除剩余肺组织似乎是唯一的根治性治疗方法。
