The first aim of the work was to obtain data on the role of different collaterals in recovery of collateral blood flow after stenosis of the abdominal part of the aorta. The second aim was to study the fate of these collaterals after the blood-flow recovery in this aorta (alloplastic prosthesis). Gradual reduction of collaterals beginning from long less stable vessels resulted from the bloodflow recovery. Short collaterals were more stable.
