To explore the roles, functions, and work practices of case managers and their perceptions on the implementation of case management in the Community Psychiatric Nursing Services.
A qualitative descriptive approach was used. Data were collected from daily reports, field observations, reflective diaries, and small group interviews.
The study showed the work practices of case managers were more intensive compared to the conventional community psychiatric nursing practice, and there was more involvement of clients and their family in the treatment process. Case managers identified liaison, coordination, supportive and family counseling, and teaching practical living skills as their important roles.
This study provides valuable information in understanding the process of case management and contributed to the development of case management as a care delivery model in Hong Kong.
探讨个案管理员的角色、职能和工作实践，以及他们对社区精神科护理服务中实施个案管理的看法。
采用定性描述性方法。数据收集自每日报告、实地观察、反思日记和小组访谈。
研究表明，与传统的社区精神科护理实践相比，个案管理员的工作实践更为深入，并且服务对象及其家庭在治疗过程中的参与度更高。个案管理员将联络、协调、支持和家庭咨询以及传授实际生活技能确定为其重要角色。
本研究为理解个案管理过程提供了有价值的信息，并有助于将个案管理发展成为香港的一种护理提供模式。
