[The postoperative management of the alcoholic (author's transl)].

The paper deals with observations on alcoholics suffering from withdrawal symptoms after surgery. Apart from differential diagnostic comment suggestions are made concerning the immediate treeatment of these patients. A therapeutic scheme is proposed which has proved valuable in relevant cases. Chlormethiazol (Distraneurin) appears to be the treatment of choice.
