Investigations into the problem of mechanical hemolysis were carried out in 28 patients with one or more prosthetic heart valve replacements. Signs of compensated intravascular hemolysis were demonstrated in all cases by determination of lactic dehydrogenase activity and free hemoglobin in the serum. We found no correlation between the type and number of prosthetic heart valves and the incidence of hemolysis.
对28例接受一个或多个人工心脏瓣膜置换术的患者进行了机械性溶血问题的调查。通过测定血清中的乳酸脱氢酶活性和游离血红蛋白，在所有病例中均证实了代偿性血管内溶血的迹象。我们发现人工心脏瓣膜的类型和数量与溶血发生率之间没有相关性。
