Abstract

The effect of light on the pigmentation of various strains belonging to the genus Streptomyces was investigated. It was revealed that six species of streptomycetes, S. massaporeus, S. phaeopurpureus, S. chibaensis, S. salmonicida, S. fluvissimus and S. longispororuber, were photochromogenic, i.e., these strains can be photoinduced to synthesize pigments. On the basis of these results, pigmentation in Streptomyces is discussed.

摘要

研究了光对链霉菌属不同菌株色素形成的影响。结果表明,六种链霉菌,即马萨波雷链霉菌、暗紫链霉菌、千叶链霉菌、杀鲑链霉菌、河流链霉菌和长孢红链霉菌,具有光致变色特性,也就是说,这些菌株可被光诱导合成色素。基于这些结果,对链霉菌的色素形成进行了讨论。
