Based on the data of pertinent literature and personal author's material the technic and complications in cannulation of the subclavian vein are analysed. There were 39 complications among 1309 punctures (pleural puncture--in 11, puncture of the subclavian artery-in 20, and thrombophlebitis-in 8). All these complications were not serious and easily liquidated.
