Annu Rev Popul Law. 1988;15:168.
Among other things, this Act amends the New Zealand Hospitals Act 1957 to require the acting general manager of a hospital board to develop and publish an equal employment opportunities program and to ensure that the program is complied with. The acting general manager is also to furnish the Director-General with a report of the program and the extent to which the acting general manager was able to "meet" the program. The Act defines an equal employment opportunities program as "a programme that is aimed at the identification and elimination of all aspects of policies, procedures, and other institutional barriers that cause or perpetuate, or tend to cause or perpetuate, inequality in respect to the employment of any persons or groups of persons."
