"Nuptiality...of single persons in the Czech Republic can be distributed into 3 stages. During the first one specified by the period since World War II until the beginning of the sixties nuptiality...developed in accordance with the European trends.... The second stage started in the sixties and was completed in 1989.... In this stage...the Czech Republic's population started its differentiation of nuptial behaviour as compared to a series of developed countries, where at the turn of the seventies the intensity of single persons' nuptiality has declined while the average age at the first marriage has been increasing.
