"This study compares the mortality levels of twelve geographic zones which have different socio-economic status. This analysis covers all the municipalities on the island of Montreal [Canada] between 1960-62 and 1975-77. The results arrived at show that there are great disparities in mortality among the zones." Factors associated with these differences include income, educational level, and profession. It is also noted that these differences are increasing over time. (summary in ENG, SPA)
