In this Reply, the Minister of Justice gave the opinion that a parent of a minor child retains the authority to give parental consent for an abortion to be performed on the child even when the parent is incarcerated. Neither a judicial nor administrative authority can give consent for the parent unless the parent is incarcerated for reasons of incapacity.
