Your decontamination plans should address both small-scale events and treatment of hundreds or more patients. To protect team members, use rescue signals and medical screenings before staff enter the decontamination unit. Use covered walkways, overhangs, or covered parking garages to decontaminate large numbers of patients. Choose a site at an appropriate distance from the hospital to prevent contaminated patients or staff from entering.
