The latest research finds that HIV treatment disparities among minority populations are not a big problem within specific HIV programs, but they can be measured when all states and programs are added into the picture. One of the main reasons for the disparity is that African-Americans are more likely to receive their HIV care and medications through Medicaid programs than through AIDS Drug Assistance Programs.
