The purpose of this study was to determine the diagnostic performance of high-resolution ultrasonography compared with arthroscopy examination for the detection and characterization of rotator cuff tears. 31 patients with shoulder pain who had undergone preoperative ultrasonography and subsequent arthroscopy were identified.
Ultrasonography for full-thickness rotator cuff tears has sensitivity of 80%, specificity of 100%, PPV of 100%, NPV of 82%. Ultrasonography for partial-thickness rotator cuff tears has sensitivity of 78.5%, specificity of 82%, PPV of 85%, NPV of 75%.
Ultrasonography was highly accurate for detecting full-thickness rotator cuff tears; it was less sensitive and specific for detecting partial-thickness rotator cuff tears. Because of its low cost ultrasonography could be the first diagnostic tool for the rotator cuff tears.
本研究的目的是确定高分辨率超声检查与关节镜检查相比,在检测和鉴别肩袖撕裂方面的诊断性能。确定了31例肩部疼痛患者,这些患者术前接受了超声检查并随后接受了关节镜检查。
全层肩袖撕裂的超声检查敏感性为80%,特异性为100%,阳性预测值为100%,阴性预测值为82%。部分厚度肩袖撕裂的超声检查敏感性为78.5%,特异性为82%,阳性预测值为85%,阴性预测值为75%。
超声检查在检测全层肩袖撕裂方面高度准确;在检测部分厚度肩袖撕裂方面敏感性和特异性较低。由于其成本低,超声检查可能是肩袖撕裂的首选诊断工具。
