[The effect of internal limiting membrane removal on healing of idiopathic macular hole].

OBJECTIVE
To prospectively investigate the effect on macular hole healing after internal limiting membrane (ILM) removal during idiopathic macular hole (IMH) surgery.
METHODS
Forty-one consecutive patients (forty-one eyes) with idiopathic macular hole underwent pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) combined with surgical removal of the epiretinal membranes overlying the hole, gas/fluid exchange and C(3)F(8) intraocular tamponade. The patients were randomly divided into two groups, group A 19 patients in non-ILM-peeling group, group B 22 patients in ILM peeling group who underwent the removal of internal limiting membrane surrounding the hole.
RESULTS
Among the 41 cases, IMHs were completely closed in 37 eyes (90.2%). In the ILM removal group, IMHs were closed in 22 cases (22/22, 100%). In the non-ILM removal group, IMHs were closed only in 15 eyes (15/19, 78.9%). There was a significant difference between the two groups (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSION
PPV is a valid treatment for IMH and the removal of ILM may help IMH close after surgery.
目的
前瞻性研究特发性黄斑裂孔（IMH）手术中去除内界膜（ILM）对黄斑裂孔愈合的影响。
方法
41例连续的特发性黄斑裂孔患者（41只眼）接受了玻璃体切割术（PPV），联合手术切除覆盖在裂孔上的视网膜前膜、气/液交换及C3F8眼内填充。患者被随机分为两组，A组19例为非ILM剥除组，B组22例为ILM剥除组，后者接受了围绕裂孔的内界膜去除术。
结果
41例患者中，37只眼（90.2%）的IMH完全闭合。在ILM去除组中，22例（22/22，100%）的IMH闭合。在非ILM去除组中，仅15只眼（15/19，78.9%）的IMH闭合。两组间差异有统计学意义（P < 0.05）。
结论
PPV是治疗IMH的有效方法，去除ILM可能有助于术后IMH闭合。
