The fate of the upper urinary tracts after urinary diversion will determine its place in the management of neurogenic and congenital bladder lesions. In this study there was an over-all 13 per cent deterioration rate in the upper tracts after ileac and colonic diversions. The status of the upper tracts at the time of diversion was believed to be a significant factor in the prognosis.
