Abstract
Ten cases of visual loss ranging from total blindness to a brief period of transient ischemic attacks occurred after cardiopulmonary bypass. Brain scan studies indicated occipital cortical infarction as the cause. Thrombosis, embolization, and selective laminar cortical necrosis due to cerebral anoxia were possible mechanisms.

十例在体外循环后出现视力丧失的病例，视力丧失程度从完全失明到短暂性脑缺血发作不等。脑部扫描研究表明枕叶皮质梗死是病因。血栓形成、栓塞以及脑缺氧导致的选择性层状皮质坏死可能是其机制。
