Clinical microsystems--with their emphasis on patients, people, process, and performance patterns--still isn't as well known as other quality improvement terms. But many people familiar with healthcare quality issues think these systems can potentially change the front lines of care delivery--which in turn influence how care is provided throughout larger healthcare organizations.
