A case is described in which ureteral vascular impressions called "notching" or "scalloping sign" are caused by an ureteral artery supplying a pheochromocytoma. Vascular impressions on the ureter are recognized in different conditions. Most of them are due to collateral circulation following renal artery obstruction. The differential diagnosis is discussed.
