Contrary to popular belief, forensic medicine is not limited to grisly anatomic pathology, or even to criminal cases. It is better defined as practice at any of the many interfaces of medicine and law. This article will discuss some topics and procedures of forensic practice that are shared by many forms of forensic work, regardless of specialty.
