To report a case of conjunctival granuloma formation in response to lodgment of an insect wing.
Case report and review of the literature. RESULTS Granuloma formation in the conjunctiva can occur following lodgment of an insect wing. This can cause the patient chronic redness, discharge, and discomfort.
Small foreign bodies with relatively little mass and large surface area can evade the normal protective mechanisms for removal of a foreign body and give rise to a chronic inflammatory response.
报告一例因昆虫翅膀滞留而形成结膜肉芽肿的病例。
病例报告及文献复习。结果昆虫翅膀滞留结膜后可形成肉芽肿。这可导致患者长期眼红、分泌物增多及不适。
质量相对较小而表面积较大的小异物可避开异物清除的正常保护机制，引发慢性炎症反应。
