[Importance of immunologic protection factors in predicting the development of purulent septic complications after appendectomy].

In 66 patients with acute appendicitis, the immunocompetent system was studied in dynamics, significant decrease in all the parameters considered before and at different time after the operation was revealed. In patients with complicated forms of the disease, disorders in immunity were more pronounced, and didn't disappear by the moment of clinical recovery. Sharp reduction (more than 40-50%) of both humoral and cellular links of immunity by day 1 and 3 after the operation can be used as an early prognostic sigh of the development of a postoperative wound suppuration.
