Abstract

Beta-cyclodextrin (beta-CD) polymers are used for the removal of various dyes from aqueous solutions. Three insoluble polymers with different degrees of beta-CD were used. Results of adsorption experiments showed that these polymers exhibited high sorption capacities toward dyes. The mechanism of adsorption was both physical adsorption and hydrogen bonding due to the polymer and the formation of an inclusion complex due to the beta-CD molecules through host-guest interactions.

β-环糊精(β-CD)聚合物用于从水溶液中去除各种染料。使用了三种具有不同β-CD含量的不溶性聚合物。吸附实验结果表明,这些聚合物对染料表现出高吸附容量。吸附机制既有聚合物引起的物理吸附和氢键作用,也有β-CD分子通过主客体相互作用形成包合物的作用。
