Hemisection: a treatment option for the vertically split tooth.

As the population keeps their teeth longer the problem of tooth fracture and severe fracture of the root is becoming increasingly significant for the restorative dentist. This paper discusses hemisection, an alternative to extraction in cases of vertical root fracture in patients capable and willing to carry out proper oral hygiene measures.
