[Polymorphism of serum esterases of Japanese quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica)].

Polymorphism of plasma esterases in quail is very important. Phenotypic frequences of genetic variants of three esterases are examined and they show a high proportion of heterozygotes. The maintenance of this polymorphism is supposed to be due to the organophosphorus pesticides.
